Everyone needs to lighten up a bit! Jeez!It is not ok, work environment is professional environment and employees should behave professionally and ethically on breaks it is fine to crack clean jokes for refreshment, it is something out of organisational culture, even in informal culture it is not allowed. Back in the Yes I’m A Woman Yes I Drive A BMW No You Can’t Drive It Shirt in contrast I will get this day when I was working men said dirty jokes and so did women, sometimes did it together too. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. No big deal. It did not make for a difficult environment.

If someone who hears it reports it you’ve mucked up in choosing your audience or being quiet enough. Don’t tell any potentially offensive joke in earshot of someone you’re not sure of basically. Still hardly a really serious offence, depending on the Yes I’m A Woman Yes I Drive A BMW No You Can’t Drive It Shirt in contrast I will get this offensiveness and whether it’s ongoing, I’d say. Life is serious enough. As two ladies working with more males we actually look forward to one of our guys telling a few jokes. In fact if he pops in to see us without a joke, naughty or not, we feel slightly sad as he brightens our morning. No offence ever taken but like I say in life worse things going on. I’ve worked with lorry drivers, plumbers, electricians, security and post room lads. I’ve had everything said to me and then some.
